Jumpstart Platform
The MVP Jumpstart in a nutshell is a practical tool for small and/or growing organisations to work towards their company goals in people management. The platform is set out as a dashboard which encourages users to select three core people management goals based on the Investors in People framework. This means that leaders can prioritise any area, from inspiring leadership to continuous development as the cornerstones of their people strategy. Organisations will then be able to send out regular surveys to their team via a partnership with messaging service Slack, which facilitates the feedback function of the platform.
The Challenge
To further the purpose of the Investors in People as a community Interest Company and expand the conversation about what great people management looks like. To engage a new audience of small and medium, entrepreneurial organisations who are: looking to work on particular improvement areas and looking to improve their people management and development programs.
The Process
Workshops were used to generate insight from the stakeholders and research was conducted with users to understand their objectives and priorities. Further to this, prototypes were sent out and user testing sessions were held in order to gather feedback and ensure that the intent for the experience was being achieved.
The Result
Jumpstart was developed as part of Investors in People’s broader mission to help organisations enhance business success through empowering their people. For many small businesses, a HR function simply isn’t a priority and if there is a HR presence, the people responsible will often have dual aspects to their role, with HR being just one element. Jumpstart has been successful in filling this void, providing business leaders with an accessible platform capable of providing the strategies that would usually be delivered by HR, such like skill and leadership development.
